An Animation Short

In 2024, I entered Animation Dingle's Sting competition and it got selected for the 2025 festival screening.

The task was to create a small short featuring festival's mascot doing something they're passionate about. I chose the passion of cooking while adding an energetic and explosive spin to it.

I directed the short and animated it with some help from my friend Daniel Pong.

Re-Shooting

When I began working from the animatic I changed the layout/composition of some shots in order strive for more engaging and dynamic movements/ angles.

Dynamic shot but the Character is quite stagnant in movement leading to a lack expression and conveyed emotion through body language.

Camera movement is more energetic and lively as well as the character showcasing the enjoyment and pride he has for his cooked meal.

The shot composition is unique but doesn't flow well into the next shot.

The Shot leads well into the next and the layout allows the fire fx to be the main focus of the shot.
